“Contact Form 7” is a trademark of Rock Lobster Inc. (a Japan-based company that developed the WordPress plugin Contact Form 7) registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). We developed the following trademark policy primarily to protect users from products or services that use the “Contact Form 7” name in a confusing way.
We strongly encourage you to avoid using the “Contact Form 7” name and its variants (such as “contact-form-7”, “Contact Form7”, “Contactform7”, etc.) as part of any project, product, service, domain (including subdomain), or company name, or in any advertisement. A general term “Contact Form” without “7” or an unofficial abbreviated form “CF7” is not covered by this trademark.
As for WordPress plugins and themes hosted on WordPress.org, we exceptionally allow the use of “Contact Form 7” in their product names and slugs, as long as WordPress.org’s guidelines permit.
Feel free to mention “Contact Form 7” in your blog, presentation, or any document. Still, we ask that you avoid any suggestion of affiliation with, or endorsement by, the trademark owner or the Contact Form 7 project.
